On the High Road…
Brent Museum’s Special Exhibitions Gallery was a hive of activity at the end of last week, as we installed our new exhibition, Willesden High Road: Past, Present and Future, which will be opening this Monday, 19 March, until Tuesday 31st July. Using images from Brent Archives’ collections, including photographs taken for the 2007 Brent Artists’ Resource project Now and Thenproject, and incorporating the work of local artists inspired by the area, the exhibition explores how the area has changed over the years, from the late nineteenth century when it was a semi-rural roadway, offering a small range of shops and services to the local population, to the vibrant and diverse street we see today.
As a taster for the exhibition, we thought we’d bring you some photographs of the exhibition being installed:
The exhibition open on Monday, and a free programme of adult events and family activities will be running alongside it; join us to find out more about the fascinating stories that lie behind every door.
